meet the breed picture 1 The Twin Cities Area Shih Tzu Club participated in the Minnesota State Fair as part of the Minnesota Pure Bred Dog Association’s Meet the Breed program. The dogs loved the attention and fair-goers of all ages enjoyed the opportunity to pet and meet them. It was a day filled with smiles and so much love.

The best part of the meet the breed is having an opportunity to promote the versatility of the Shih Tzu. We shared how ShihTzu can excel in conformation, obedience, rally, barn hunt, fast cat, agility, working as therapy dogs, and of course, hanging out as loving and loyal pets and companions.

meet the breed picture 1We had literally hundreds of conversations with current and former Shih Tzu owners, as well as folks who are likely to be Shih Tzu owners in the future. We talked about the advantages of getting pups from reputable breeders and what to look for in the breed standard, such as temperament and size range. We also answered breed questions about food, grooming and health. Having well behaved and well groomed dogs in our bench made it easy to display the advantages of the breed.
